The book “The New Generation Company” has shown through the experiences of 250 leaders in 30 countries that the management style and the mission of the company are consubstantially linked. Indeed, NextGen organisations have aligned a positive impact purpose and a distributed authority governance for more autonomy, accountability, transparency and finally trust. This trust attracts talent and retains them within a project that goes beyond them but which they influence in a concrete way.
As de facto political actors, companies are committed to improving society and the environment. They are today both the source and probably tomorrow the solution to the challenges of planetary limits. In this respect, the social and environmental dimensions are linked in a systemic way. And the carbon issue is only one aspect of this gigantic 21st century challenge. Without giving in to solastalgia, we must imagine and implement the foundations of new economic practices.
